Guest guest
Donna, Thanks for sending that site. I have been torn on choosing a Medicare Diabetes Supplier. It probably doesn't matter. I always see the ad on TV that says, " Check your blood sugar and check it often, there is no reason not to " I believe that is Liberty Medical. Does anyone have the Freestyle tracker that is actually a PDA? Or the Accucheck Ultra, it is also a PDA. I am looking for a glucometer that will record my blood sugars, the insulin administered, time/dose, the carbs I eat, with a carb counter unit installed, and calculator & graph capabilities, as well as an email component to be able to send these results to my Endocrinologist. I believe that both of these glucometers have these functions. Blessings, Karyn E. , RN Exec. Director, PAI Indianapolis, IN The PAI serves as a means of support, information, and advocacy. Guest guest
Kimber, I am glad to know you like it. It is always better to talk to someone who actually has it. Did you compare it to the Tracker before you decided on it? Karyn Karyn E. , RN Exec. Director, PAI Indianapolis, IN The PAI serves as a means of support, information, and advocacy. Guest guest
Karyn, the meter you want sounds exactly like the one I just bought. It's the OneTouch UltraSmart. It has the ability to record insulin dosages, count carbs on a daily basis, graph bloodsugars in several different ways and a lot of other goodies. Check it out : http://www.lifescan.com/products/meters/ultrasmart.html Kimber -- Kimber Vallejo, CA hominid2@... Guest guest
Karyn, actually no, I didn't even know about the tracker. I've pretty much stuck to products made by Lifescan over the past 10 years as their meters are more accurate than any others on the market (when Diabetes Forecasts sends out it's yearly review on diabetic products I check out the info on the meters to keep update as I prefer to have the leading meter on the market and event though my insurance will only cover one meter per person for life, I'm willing to pay the extra to get a new meter as long as my insurance covers the cost of the strips) and accurracy is more important to me than other features. I have used other manufactures in the past and have never been as satisfied with them as I have with the Lifescan meters. Kimber -- Kimber Vallejo, CA hominid2@...
