Karyn (or ANYONE!)

I saw you mention in that list of questions, something about pain meds

containing opiouds (did I spell that anywhere close to right?) being NOT

preferrable. Also - you mentioned Tylenol and Aspirin specifically as not

good for pancreatic pain. WHY?

I don't give Cameron aspirin, but mostly because of him being so young.

However, sometimes when I don't want to continue his darvocet, I give him

extra strength Tylenol. This always makes him sleepy, and the drs all say it

has nothing to do with making him drowsy. I keep my opinions to myself

because I KNOW he doesnt get sleepy on the darvocet....He can even attend

school while taking darvocet. But one Tylenol, and he's asleep for 4-5 hours

usually.

Does this tell you anything? I know too much of whatever (please don't

cringe at my lack of medical knowledge..LOL) is in Tylenol is not supposed to

be good for the liver, but when he leaves the hospital they prescribe Tylenol

#3 for him since they won't send him home with morphine or demerol. We

stumbled on using the darvocet when it was prescribed for me after some

dental work. (I am allergic to codeine and many other meds, but this was one

I could tolerate quite well.)

I am always thankful for the knowledge I have gained thru everyone's posts,

but am continually surprised at all the questions I still have! I guess

this is derived from having something that " taking a pill " won't just CURE~
