Beth,

My son is large for his age and is an eater! (He was 10 in October, weighs

109 lbs - just lost 12 lbs, and is 5'1 " tall) However, I was seeing him just

lay around and being very lethargic. What we found after we got some of his

dietary scheduled organized, was to give him a food supplement drink once or

twice a day. We found one of the meal-replacement drinks was not enough to fill

him up instead of a meal, however if he drinks one as soon as he gets in from

school, he is not so starving at mealtime later. This also provides the

majority of his vitamins and minerals, as his stomach gets pretty angry if he

takes most daily vitamins in pill form. We've noticed a marked improvement in

his daily energy by adding this. His typical eating schedule is:

Upon Waking: Slimfast

Breakfast: Cereal & Cinnamin Toast (fake butter, sparing cinn and sugar)

Lunch: Cold Sandwich w/2oz meat, fresh fruit, jello or pudding, granola bar

After School: Slimfast or Ramen Noodle soup

Dinner: usually noodles or pasta w/4oz meat or fish, steamed veggies, fruit

Before Bedtime: few crackers w/low fat peanut butter or dry cereal

The only meal we are struggling with is the Before Bedtime one.....we have

a hard time getting it to make it thru til morning. Otherwise, his pancreas

stays pretty happy on this unless he deviates much from it.
