I read Tara's post about honey on the SCD diet. We have been giving

our son jello and juice containing honey. Is this legal!, I thought I

had read about adding honey to the gello on the food preparation page.

This is week 2 on the intro-diet. We had to start over, because I had

introduced too many vegetables too fast.

He is loosing weight, still struggling with constipation, has not

pooped since Monday. We have taken Benefiber out and replaced with

prune juice mixed with melon juice. We had tried MO on Sunday

that may have helped him poop on Monday. His stomach is tight, he

wants to be held and hugged all the time. I could get him to smile,

when I took him for a 45 minute bike ride this evening, he kept

talking on the bike ride, he seemed to enjoy it a lot. He did not want

to come back into the house.

He is now eating only cooked pear sauce for all his meals. He is not

touching the chicken/broth + carrots.

How much longer should we wait before we introduce new foods.

He has a running nose. I am on the diet too, I have a low fever,

severe sore throat and headaches. I have started on spagetti squash

along with the chicken/broth + carrots. I am wondering if he is not

eating the chicken and carrots because of a sore throat. The pear

sauce is easy to swallow, that is why he seems to like it. He eats

about 2 fruits equalent in one meal, followed by prunes with melon

juice. I tried putting the chicken and carrots in a blender, he would

not eat the pureed form either.

Also, my wife, who is not on the diet has a sore throat and cough. I

am wondering if the cold/cough symptoms are not related to the diet at

all.

please advise
