Guest guest
I also had a lap chole and developed severe upper right abdominal pain. Prior to the surgery, I asked my surgeon straight to his face if there was a correlation to lap chole's and pancreatitis and he looked me in the eyes and said " Absolutely none " . Now here I am 2 years, and 2 ercp's later with cp that just gets worse and worse. I finally have started taking narcotics last month just to sleep. I have always been very diligent about a low fat diet; but the greatest pain occurs from activity and I never know what will do it. Two weeks ago it was just from taking food from the buggy and putting on the conveyor at the grocery store when RIPPPP it was all I could do to keep from buckling over on the spot. The severe pain lasted for over 10 days and still if I move a certain way or God forbid sneeze, there it goes again. My surgeon said that I am a very poor candidate for sphincteroplasty or a puestow due to ductal tortuosity. We have discussed a Whipple procedure but I am very hesitant, scared really. Does any body know of any one who has fully recovered from the Whipple procedure? I am on the verge of becoming completely useless but I dont want to spend the rest of my life as an invalid either. I apologize for the being so lengthy, but venting can be good for the soul as well. Warmly
