Guest guest
My condolences too and that is the saddest story. Was that the FIRST CT scan they ever did? I cannot understand that. Actually my husband was taking Prevacid for a while. That's not bad for pancreatitis as far as I know. It suppresses the acid, which is good. He recently almost died from massive infection after being home 7 days and having to go back in. We also were kind of ignored for a while in the ER. So happened someone came in with a heart attack, but it also turned out that he was serious too! Then they decided to send him back to Duke, which is what we wanted. We had only gone to the local hospital because he didn't think he could stand the pain for the 2 hour ride to Duke without some morphine. He was in ICU for a couple of days and somehow he pulled through it and is home again now. A lot of the stories puzzle me why the pancreatitis is not diagnosed sooner. Even here in our small town they knew what it was, they just didn't do anything for it. The best thing that happened to my husband was being referred to Duke University Hospital.
