Guest guest
GiProhealth sells one called SCDophilus. Charlene I really want to continue probiotics with my sons--one in particular really struggles with yeast. Both are autism spectrum and I am not willing to do casein or yogurt right now. Can anyone recommend a SCD legal casein free probiotic? le For information on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, please read the book _Breaking the Vicious Cycle_ by Elaine Gottschall and read the following websites: http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info and http://www.pecanbread.com

Guest guest
WE use from SCDophilus from GI PRO HEALTH. I am with you with the casein...but remember in the 24 hour goat yogurt that the casein is fermented so much hat this protien can not have a casomorhphine reaction in the brain. We didn't trust the yogurt either at first, either. We have been casien due to ADHD son since he was three months old, going on 5 years. I truly support your concern with casein. We will not do anything that may have casein in it that could cause this casomorphine reaction either. our autistic daughter truly did better when we started this goat yogurt. My son's distended and bloated tummy dissapeared. So did my husbands. It seems to offer the good gut bugs in higher numbers than just doing the powders. She has yet to have a reaction that is realted to casomorphine, like she did with liquid milks, or things with casein that is not denatured in them. She did have one heck of a die off reaction though. We all did. This was good, because when she recovered from that, she started talking for the first time. This too passes within 5 to 10 days...and then you are on your way to healing, and feeding that starving brain..that caused the vicious cycle of ASD in the first place.... You may want to try a it and see. The goat is much easier to digest. But even the casein in bovine 24 hour SCDiet yogurt is rendered harmless. Feel free to go to Yogurt section of Pecan Bread Web Site to see what Elaine said about the denatured casein proteins. You can contact me off serve too if you wish. I love talking to people. Sincerely, Antoinette (2+ months SCD entire family of five and healing) > > I really want to continue probiotics with my sons--one in particular > really struggles with yeast. Guest guest
I'm not sure that was clear - you have to get a yogurt starter from GI pro health for the yogurt. the recipe is on the pecanbread website. Colby
