Guest guest
Hi everyone! I was reading the posts about the trouble losing weight & want to add my two cents. Before I got CP, I was VERY active. Now, due to the fatigue & the nausea (especially with increased activity) I weigh more than I ever have. (I think that one of the meds I was on caused most of the weight gain b/c it came off really fast when I stopped taking it.) Although I am not really overweight, I was always very thin. So when I first started getting sick, before I knew what was wrong, I was malnourished. I never want to be like that again. I agree with Maureen, that our risk of malnourishment is high so at least it's better to have a little to spare. Anyway, I think maybe a lot of the weight gain could be from 3 things: medications, decreased activity, & increased carbs in our diets (b/c I believe eating very low fat puts us in the higher carb category). Just my humble opinion. Hugs to all, Deanna
