Guest guest
Hi Sandy, I have found EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) really valuable in relieving the stress of parenting in a difficult situation. This is a simple, do-it-yourself acupressure for the emotions. You can download a free how-to manual at www.emofree.com (or maybe www.emo-free.com -- I can never remember whether it's hyphenated). There's also a great book titled " Instant Emotional Healing " by Lambrou and Pratt. Mainly I use the " Basic Recipe " of EFT and the " Balanced Breathing " from the book. It's amazing, when something my child is doing is " driving me nuts " , if I do EFT to clear away my fear and/or anger about the behavior, then my child stops the behavior within a couple of days! I don't know how this works, but somehow it seems like my negative reaction keeps her locked into the behavior. With the negative reaction out of the way, she " outgrows " the behavior quickly! I hope this is helpful. Kayla
