Guest guest
, You wrote, " How long can one expect to live with this condition?? Is it fatal? " That is a good question to bring to the table every now and then. The previous response given by Kaye was well written, emphasizing the importance of striving towards normalcy and quality of life. Your body believes what your mind tells it, so your best bet is to wake up in the morning and first thing, tell yourself, that you are going to have a good day. Others say fake it until you make it. But I really do believe the factual data that I have seen that shows how the T-helper immune cells have an increased fighting power when the blood is drawn out of a positive, happy patient, than a scared and depressed patient. It's important to remember that a higher percentage of people die from Diabetes complications than they do from Pancreatitis. I now have severe Diabetes, it's far worse than the Pancreatitis is. I would take the pain of Pancreatitis and the side effects of the narcotics, than the difficulty of not going hypoglycemic. As long as you are taking a proactive approach to achieve your optimum and highest level of well being, practice preventive healthcare, avoiding all the risk factors, (smoking, alcohol, illegal drugs, stress, etc.) you will certainly be as alive for that day, and that is all that matters.
