Good Morning to all

I finialy went to the Dr's yestreday. I still wasn't feeling good about

going. Mike made me the appontment cause I wasn't doing it. Then he went

with me. I was really apprehensive about going. I 'm just not feeling

strong enough to fight for 2 of us. Cassie and me. At least that's the way

Ive been feeling.

My PCP was not available to see me so he scheduled me with another Dr there

who was new. So Oh great I get to fight for relief with a brand new dr.

Well, was I ever wrong. It was an overall pretty easy experience. We sat

and talked about my past history, she was very open to the knowledge we had

on SPINK1 and CP. She says she believes I am diffinetly have pancreatic

attacks. Says her concern is how bad I have it, and not why. In her opinion

the genetics leave no doubt what it is. When we find out how bad, we can

maybe figure out the best approach. So.. I had labs taken for a complete

workup yesterday including, amylase, lipase and triglicerides. I am having

an altrusound next Thursday. They also referred my to GI though I have no

appointment yet. They told me to expect Aug/Sep before I get in. Dr says she

will do much prelim. testing prior to GI appoint becuase of the lenght of

time it will take to be seen.

I was also giving a prescription for Vicodin and for phengran for pain and

nausea.

We both walked out of there in total shock! It was never this easy with

Cassie, NEVER! She wants to go see my Dr now.

So that's where I'm at now. Thanks for your words of encouragement to get me

to go. I think hearing from you was just what Mike needed to push me out the

door and to the Dr's. Hugs to all

Patty,

What great news! I'm so glad that you had Mike looking out for

you and that you got this appointment under your belt. It's good

that the doctor was so open-minded and considerate of your

concerns and your needs. Could she not treat Cassie, too? I

realize pediatrics is necessary to a point, but Cassie's got a

disease that will carry on through adulthood and it would be

great that she was seen by someone who was treating you as

well.

I just wanted to jump up and down for you! It sounds like you've

got a keeper! Keep us up to date.

With hope and prayers,

Heidi
