Goat milk/yogurt catastrophe! ok to go cow???

Hello all, it's been a long time, but I need help!

I've been giving my son goat yogurt for the four years we've been on

SCD. I used to get great goat milk at Trader Joe's, but they stopped

carrying it. Now, all I can find is Meyenberg. I've been using it for

the past few months with no problem. I don't like it as much, but it

works ok.

I've been trying to make a batch of yogurt for the past two days and

I've ruined three quarts of goat milk. Everytime I try to heat them,

they curdle and get disgusting before the temp even reaches 150, let

alone 185. What's going on??? I'm not doing anything differently -

same milk, same pan, same thermometer.

Has anyone experienced this? What can I do? What does this mean about

the milk?

Has anyone gone from using only goat products to using cow products

(yogurt and cheese)? How did it go?

If you believe strongly that it will be a huge mistake for me to try

giving him yogurt made from whole organic cow's milk, please let me

know why. I've always felt strongly that the goat was better, but I'm

about to lose it with this milk!

BTW - usually gets about 1/2 cup yogurt per day in a smoothy.

He also eats a little as ice cream, which I know is not giving him the

probiotic. He seems to be doing fine, a couple of days without any,

but I consider it a " medicine " for him - he needs it.

What should I do??

Thank you so much!!!

son - 7 years old, ASD, SCD 4 years (very happy, healthy kid!)
