Guest guest
TO LAUREL's MOM: Just to let you know. My mother has worried about me because of my weight since I was in school. Since then, I have had 2 children of which I had gestational diabetes with both, last one insulin dependent. I think the only thing my mother would change about me IS my weight. She not only knows how miserable I feel, but as a Registered Nurse, knows the health problems associated with it. She has also battled her weight for over 40 years, so she definately knows how I feel. At first when I talked about surgery, she basically had NO response. Later, I gave her Dr. Rutledge's manual and that woman read it from cover to cover. Now you should hear her bragging about how proud of me she is for researching this and finding the BEST procedure there is and how wonderful she thinks Dr. R is for making us do all the homework we have to do. Remember, she has been a nurse for over 40 years, so I feel totally at ease now that I have her approval. Please remember, this is not something that any of us take lightly, but if you look at the risks of the surgery, versus the risks of staying overweight and probably gaining even more over time. I think there is no question as to what the answer should be. At least not with THIS procedure and THIS doctor. Good Luck to you Laurel, I know your mom loves you and will support you in your decision. You should let her read the manual! Godspeed!
