Guest guest
> I am not sure if this is related but often I have intense gas pressure and pain in the loop of bowel over the pancreas. This started after my first celiac block. It also caused terrible diarrhea.... This gas pressure if not relieved quickly, causes increased pancreas pain, I believe just because of the physical pressure it exherts on the pancreas. Keri Beck RN Keri, I too, suffer from the gas pressure in the loop of the bowel, it causes pain enough to be confused with my pseudocyst pain, since one pseudocyst is located very close to this loop. A colonscopy already showed that my colon was very " contorted and redundant " ....haha, no foolin " ! Then my GI did a bowel x-ray just last week just to check for any obstructions in the loop, because the radiologist mentioned there " may " be something there. It turned out just to be a cloud of gas - but yes, it does cause additional pain. He prescribed Prevacid and Zantac for me to take daily to help ease this. So far I haven't seen any improvement, but it's only been a week. Have you been given anything to help ease the gas pressure? With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Guest guest
Now this is not a joke, but truly what I find works for me. Then I get on my bed on my hands and knees and slowly lower my head and chest until they rest on the bed. This puts your rear end hilariously up in the air. I rock back and forth and side to side for as long as it takes to get the gas moving on out. Now isn't this the kind of advice you can't get at Web MD sites?? Keri, Don't laugh, one of the questions on the pain questionaire that my GI gave me went something like this..... " Is your pain relieved by: Getting on all fours on the floor, resting your arms and head down on the floor and rocking side to side with your rear in the air " Honestly, truly......that was one of the positions, along with all the others like laying in the fetal position, sitting bent over at the waist, bringing your chest down to your knees, etc. Ha, ha, ha......I answered NO to the getting on all fours and putting arms and head down, etc.....just because I hadn't ever tried that one! He frowned when he read the NO answer, I guess he expected a YES! So I believe you. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina SE & SW Regional Rep. PAI, Intl.
