Hi - Re the MS Contin you're on. If I'm right, that's the slow release

morphine. Everything I've read about pancreatitis says that morphine is

contraindicated because it can cause the sphincter to spasm. Have you tried

Demerol? Best wishes - Anita

I haven't tried Demerol yet but right now the MS Contin is working. As

long as it is working I am going to keep taking. I am sure that after

the surgery they will probably change it I am not sure. I use to have

Demerol in the hospital but now all I take is Dilauid. I don't know

what they are going to give me in the hospital but I am praying that

this surgery will work. Thanks for asking about it.
