Patty,

I just want to reinforce your stance on early intervention and recognition of

Pancreatitis complications, such as insulin insufficiency (Diabetes). I

definitely support your comment of " would like her working in advance with a

diabetes specialist prior to onset as a possible preventative measure. "

You should ask the doctor to consider prescribing a glucometer so you can

monitor her blood sugars with more regularity and in relationship to her food

intake. They have several on the market that allow for alternative site

testing such as the forearm.
