Guest guest Posted May 19, 2003 Report Share Posted May 19, 2003 , yes that make sense to me. When I had my Whipple done they did a frozen section biopsy at the time of surgery. The First section of the pancreas came back as an sign of early cell changes. They then did a larger resection the the pancreas. It is best to make sure that there is health tissue and organs, esp, when dealing with doing a big surgery like the islet cell transplant. Good Luck.
