Guest guest
I just returned from the health-food store with the nutrients that Dr. Nase recommends for rosacea sufferers: --> Ester-C --> Grape Seed Extract --> Pycnogenol --> Barleans Omega Twin (borage/flax oil) --> Wobenzyme N (I'm already using MetroGel and tetracycline.) I plan to add these nutrients to my diet tomorrow. I'll probably just throw the Barleans oil into my post-morning workout protein shake along with the creatine monohydrate I already use, and take half the dosages of Ester-C, Grape Seed Extract, and Pycnogenol at that time. I'll take the Wobenzyme N about an hour before my evening meal, and the remaining dosages of the other nutrients with the meal itself. What's been the experience of people here with these nutrients? The reason why I ask is the stuff is quite expensive (it'll cost about $125 a month), and I'm not sure there's any way to discover which nutrient or nutrients are effective on their own, or in combination. The number of permutations and dosage variations would make this difficult to quantify. In short, are these nutrients an all or nothing deal? Guest guest
Leigh, I've taken the Ester-C, grapeseed extract and Wobenzym N. I haven't used the other items. I found that the Wobenzym N wasn't that helpful. It's so expensive too. I think the grapeseed extract was a little helpful, but I take 100 mg a day now, just to be on the safe side. It seemed more helpful at first and I took 600 mg a day for about a year. I do take Ester-C, but only at a level of 500 mg a day because more than that and I have stomach problems. I notice that the grapeseed extract and Ester-C do help relieve the pinkness, but it's hard to say if my blood vessels are getting stronger as a result. I hate not to take it because I don't want to take a chance and weaken my blood vessels. I figure that 500 mg of Ester-C and 100 mg of grapeseed extract a day are fairly cheap, so I continue to take them. Hope that helps! Guest guest
I have taken note of these recommended supplements but I also have a question. Right now I am also taking Evening Primrose capsules and a vitamin B complex tablet. I am not taking these for roseaca but for PMS symptoms, but I did pick these particular ones because not only do they help my PMS but they are also supposed to help acne. Does anyone know if adding these other supplements would have any type of reaction to the other supplements I already take? in GA clr71@... Guest guest
Off topic, but do yall think it's possible that Dr.Nase lost interest in this whole rosacea thing and decided to make up his car wreck story to ease his way out of it? He hasn't been around an awfully long time now.
