Guest guest
I've read and appreciated everyone's comments about Aveda, and decided to amplify on my earlier post regarding my sensitivity to Aveda's All-Sensitive skin care line. I've enjoyed several Aveda hair care products for many years (in particular Rosemary Mint shampoo and detangler, Curressense intensive conditioner, and Pure-Fume Brilliance Control Damage). I've heard good things from others regarding their skin care and makeup line, but I wasn't wholly surprised that my skin reacted (because it reacts to everything <g>). I listed the ingredients in a previous post online for those who are interested, but obviously Aveda All-Sensitive contains a fair number of herbals. After reading lots of different sources, I've come to agree with those who say that natural products are best for the hair, since synthetic products in the hair can build up and work only marginally better than their natural product counterparts -- but conversely, that synthetic products are best for the face, since natural products can be irritating while of limited effectiveness, due to multiple ingredients and small amounts. I've expressed before my opinion that all these skin care products are of very questionable benefit to the best of skins, are waaaaay overpriced, and most likely hurtful to anyone with sensitivities (like myself). I'm frustrated in not being able to locate something that just does the minimum cleaning and moisturing with inert ingredients -- which to me is the most natural of all! I respect other people's opinions and experiences and am not looking to debate anyone or change anyone's mind, just to share what I know for everyone's betterment (or lack thereof <g>).
