Guest guest
Beth I wish I could help you out here, I have not had very good luck getting Cassie pain relief. I get the same thing you are getting no elevations no reason to be in pain so go home. Cassie's last bout stated with pain EVERY time she ate or drank anything. I watched her for several days and nights tylenol, warm packs, rest nothing seemed to help her took her to Drs on Friday, they drew blood and sent us home. I then stayed up till almost midnight waiitng for call on her labs nothing. Saturday, DR's has weekend hours. Called wanting her lab results this was 8:30 when they opened, 1:30 I get a call back telling me labs were normal just watch her. What the hell did they think I was doing for the last week? Well anyway I felt so helpless. I went up to my room and had a good cry because I couldnt do anything for her. Meanwhile Cassie is in her room and every moveshe makes shes moaning and whimpering. I had enough I loaded her up and headed to ER. When I got there I told them she has pancreatitis and even though she has no elevations she has pain. I am here to get my childs pain treated. I don't care if you can't find a reason, treat her pain. Well I had this big old thing worked out about what was humane and how we are more caring and compassionate about animals than people. at least we shot animals to put the out of their misery. Never had to use it. We hit the jackpot Nurse CP sufferer also and Dr( actaully PA) was appauled they gave her nothing. So now we have Vicondin from ER, complete with 2 refills. Guest guest
Patty, My local docs don't think it's his pancreas at all, because his levels are normal and his ct scan came back normal. At least my local doc has decided to call Dr.Fox today, and I am hoping he will suggest some sort of pain relief, even if they haven't yet pinpointed the pancreas. It doesn't seem to be such a leap to me.....he wasn't like this before his pancreatitis, what else would possible have caused such a drastic change in my child? I feel like crying too. I'm frustrated beyond belief! ANd I hate the waiting game. Waiting for phone calls back, waiting for email...waiting for results. Meanwhile your child is suffering. arrgghh!!! Glad you have some relief for Cassie! Beth
Guest guest
Patty, I'm so glad you found a doctor and nurse willing to help your doctor get the pain relief she needs. Too bad they couldn't be Cassie's primary care doc. Well, I hope that Cassie has some nice wonderful pain free days from this meds. Give both of you a hug for me.
