I think I have caught up on all the e-mail. Last week was a blur. Traci was

in the hospital for 4 days cleaning out a blocked large intestine. She

started complaining of a tummy ache Monday morning, but because she used the

bathroom(we smelled it) I gave her some tummy medicine, increased her

Lactulose and went on with the day. Monday night she came in our room saying

her tummy hurt. I checked her temp.(none) and gave her some Tylenol. She fell

asleep and I kept her home from school with Grandma. My dad called around

10:00 and said that she was asleep curled up and was not eating. So intuition

told me to call the doc. I took her in around 2:00. They took an x-ray and

discovered a blockage. Because she wasn't acting sick(other than quiet) we

went home to do MagnesiumCitrate and an enema. and come back in the morning

at 9 to see that gastrologist. She threw up the the magnesium and the enema

didn't get anything. She fell asleep around 10:00pm and slept through the

night. That was probably was the first mistake. By morning she was dehydrated

and when I got her to the doctor's at 9, she didn't look happy anymore. She

was throwing up and really crying out in pain. Needless to say we were

admitted. They hooked her up to get rehydrated and we went to radiology to

get a contrast enema. It showed the blockage but didn't get anything out at

that moment. Her doc gave her 24hrs so we waited. At the 24 hour, it came

out. I've never been soooo happy to see poop! She is now on Mirolax, Cipro,

and Flagyl. You would never know anything happened...except for the question

Have you pooped today?
