Guest guest
Well, this certainly isn't a cough he has ever had before on TOBI. He has been coughing at night, we do second TOBI at 3, and coughing all day. Usually he only coughs around treatments. Now he has hidden his " thumpers " and can't remember whre he put them, so cpt will be harder for him. I'll have to resort to my hands and he doesn't like that any more than the " thumpers " . Thank you to all that replied to my last post. The problem I was trying to address was that he started coughing the morning of his first treatment, BEFORE treatment. So completely unexplainable. On the nebulizer issue.......... The reason I said they shouldn't be boiled was because we just had to eplace our neb cups and mask. We have never boiled the cups, but they had become brittle and broke. The medical supply place, a home health supplier, told us that boiling was a NO-NO. I told her we don't do it. It's just the plastic eventually breaks down. On the new ones we got it says to wash in HOT water with non-lemon scented dish washing liquid. Why non-lemon I don't know, but that is what it says. Below is the same question posed to the PARI Nebulizer company. What is the best way to clean and disinfect my PARI Nebulizer? Cleaning: After every treatment, thoroughly rinse the nebulizer to remove medication. Hand-wash with warm water and dish soap. Rinse thoroughly. OR...Wash in the dishwasher using a dishwasher basket on the top rack. Disinfecting: (done after cleaning) Every 2nd treatment day, mix a solution of 1 part distilled white vinegar and 3 parts warm tap water in a clean bowl. Soak the nebulizer parts (except the tubing and tubing adapter) for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. OR...Mix a solution using Control IIIĀ® Nebulizer Disinfectant and soak for 10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. OR...Boil the nebulizer parts for 10 minutes But like I said and from experience, boiling shortens the life of the plastic. mom to 3wcf and Brenna 7wocf _________________________________________________________________ MSN 8 helps eliminate e-mail viruses.
