I don't understand something. My sons just take one sip of a drink to

down an enzyme, then immediately eat and then take enzyme in middle

of meal with another sip of a drink.

Isn't it all going in together anyway? Foods have different acidities

also. (like spagetti sauce is acidy)(cereal with milk isn't)

So why does the drink matter? Do the foods matter? And when do your

children take their enymes compared to when they eat?

I don't think it does matter what drink is used if a child can

swallow the enzymes with a drink. (Any drink will wash the enzyme

capsules right to the acidic environment of the stomach.) The

acidity does matter if you are opening a capsule to put the beads on

a spoonful of food to be swallowed (as with babies or kids who don't

do pills well.) In that case, you don't want your beads sitting in,

say, bananas where they will start to disolve and digest in the

spoon. Applesauce is acidic enough to keep the beads from disolving

while waiting to be put into a mouth and be swallowed.

The gist of this is that the beads do not disolve until they are in a

non-acidic environment. They have to make it through the mouth and

stomach intact, then disolve when they reach a certain point (I

believe it is the duodenum, but I don't have my book out right now to

double-check.) They are designed to work in the same place that

natural enzymes work in the body.

I hope I haven't muddied the waters even more with my explanation.
