Guest guest
I had 4 photoderm sessions with Dr Lat in Paramus, NJ. After each one I was pretty pink but never swollen - I did experience some " brown spots " that were just hyperpigmentation (from what I understand) and they faded after about a week. My rosacea is moderate - I have an overall pinkish hue to my face - I do get the papules if I even THINK of tapering the minocycline and I can flush fairly bad but it tends to go away pretty quick. Anyway, after a the second one I thought my flushing had improved a bit - but it didn't. A couple of weeks had past after my 4rth session and honestly I saw no improvement in anything and it was just so expensive ($500 per treatment) that I wasn't willing to continue. Dr Lat though is very very nice and seems extremely knowledgable - all of her settings, answers she'd give me etc, complied with Dr Nase and Dr Bitter. And she was Dr Bitter (Sr.) trained and actually kept in touch with him on a regular basis. I don't know why it didn't work for me - and who knows, maybe if I kept going I would have seen a difference. It is just such a high price to pay for something that has no guarantee. I know of ALOT of people on here who have benefited from photoderm and I hope my personal experience doesn't discourage anyone from giving it a try - especially if you have the deep burning and flushing episodes. Anyway, just thought I'd share my experience. Good Luck, Donna
Guest guest
My five unsuccessful photoderm sessions were with Dr. Lat also. I am curious when you had them done because in February this year at my last one, she told me I was the first patient of hers that had zero improvement. So if you had yours done before Feb, maybe that wasn't true... I do agree with you though, she was very nice and seemed knowledgeable, except for the part about not knowing or being able to explain why the treatments didn't work for me. le > I had 4 photoderm sessions with Dr Lat in Paramus, NJ. Guest guest
Hi, Dr. Lat has also treated other members of this group without success (all were impressed by her attitude and skill however). Check out this link... http://www.escribe.com/health/rosacea-support/m25097.html ....from another patient, Rick, in May 2002. Can I also ask anyone who has had photoderm, *anywhere*, good or bad, to consider filling in the rosacea treatment response form at http://rosacea.ii.net/treatments.html. . > My five unsuccessful photoderm sessions were with Dr. Lat also. Guest guest
Hi le, I had them done between last June and September. I had no improvement at all but after the 2nd treatment I thought I had some improvement in flushing and told her so so she may be under a false impression. However, just before my 4rth we did a picture comparison and even she said she couldn't tell a difference. I agreed. I don't believe you are the first to have zero improvement - I can tell you I had no improvement at all either. And I bet there are many others - I'm sure alot never tell her; they probably just don't ever go back. Good Luck, Donna
