Hello all,

Will is experiencing such pain, I'm feeling really helpless about

what to do for him.

We are in week 6 of recovery from his first episode of pancreatitis.

Local docs are saying they don't know what it is. Because he is non

verbal he can't tell us where it is hurting. Last night I was close

to taking him to the ER because he seemed in so much pain. But it

isn't the " curled up in a fetal ball " pain that he had when he was in

the hospital. It's hard crying, can't get settled pain.

We don't see Dr.Fox until June 23rd, which at this point feels like

an eternity. We are treating with alternating doses of ibuprofen and

tylenol. Last night it didn't seem to touch it. I called my local

doc this morning begging for help, and he is calling Dr.Fox. He is

also putting him back on prilosec(in case this should happen to be a

reflux issue)

What are some pain management options used in pediatric cases? Is a

h2 blocker usually part of the regimen? What have you found that

works?

Thanks!

Beth
