Bowel Obstruction and transplants

Hello,

I do have a complete bowel obstruction due to desmoid tumors that

have encased my entire small bowel to the point that digestion is no

longer possible. I am on TPN. My doctor is suggesting I go to UCLA

for small bowel and pancreas tranplants. It seems very dangerous to

do those in the same surgery or even the same body! I know bowel

transplants are experimental. How experimental are the pancreas

transplants? Where are the best hospitals to get these surgeries

performed? If anyone has any information or has went through these

operations please tell me about it.
