I still haven't heard back. I ask not because the stomach can't handle the size of the vitamin, nor that I can't swallow them. I'm worried they won't pass through the opening between the stomach and the small intestine without discomfort. It isn't a big opening, at least it didn't look that big when I saw the video of Dr. R creating it. I have a friend who had an open RNY last month. Two days ago she was in the ER with intense pain because she had eaten shrimp and apparently not chewed it well enough. After many hours of thinking she was dying she finally threw it up. >> I too have a friend who had an open RNY in April, while I had my surgery in Feb. Just last week she said " Do your vitamins ever get stuck in your stoma? " And complained of having a hard time w/ it. It just amazed me! I said " No,probably because I chase mine w/ steak!LOL! I'm being sarcastic, but it blew mw away the difference between us post-op! I took off 2 weeks, she took off 8! I eat about the size of a lean cuisine, she only eats about 3 tostidos and feels like she's going to vomit. Granted She's lost 85lbs(starting wt. 385-open RNY @ 3 months) and I'm down 66(starting wt. 272@5 months), but I seem so much healthier! She's just now exercising, and I've been Jazzercising since day 4 post-op. My goal isn't to slam her or the RNY,but our results/effects seem like apples and oranges!
