As far as I am concerned it would be the Digestive Disesae Center at

Medical University of South Carolina in ton, specifically Dr.

Cotton who is the director. I don't know the specifics of

your problem or where you are from, but I can tell you I would not

be here if it were not for that man.

God bless.

Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your

mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way.

I personally would think Duke University in Durham, NC is right up there. They

have Dr. Baille who is a great GI specialist and then Dr. Pappas who is a

surgeon and pancreatic specialist. Dr. Pappas working with you does not

necessarily mean you will have surgery. He just wants to study your case and do

whatever is necessary. I trust them completely.

,

There are several in different parts of the country that come to

mind. I mention them only because I have heard postitive

feedback from others who have received specialized acute and

chronic pancreatitis treatment at each: I have no idea which is

ranked as #1.

Medical University of South Carolina - ton, SC

University of Florida/Shands Hospital - Gainesville, FL

The Cleveland Clinic - Cleveland, OH

Hopkins Medical University - Baltimore, MD

Duke - Raleigh, NC

Massachusetts General - ? Not sure of the correct name,

hospital is located in Boston

UCLA Hospital - Los Angeles, CA

The hospital in Pittsburg, PA. where Bert had his pancreatectomy

with auto islet transplant. I don't recall the name of the hospital,

but have heard it mentioned very favorably by Bert and other

people with CP.

Hope this helps. Are you contemplating surgery?

With hope and prayers,
