MGB Central Update

Hi All!

Our new Social Director, Gardiner, one of the Michigan Crew,

has set up the MGB Command post here at the Holiday Inn Express and

the phone hasn't stopped ringing!

We got to meet a lot of new folks yesterday afternoon at clinic.

Last night, Ebbieday (Debbie), Galyon and her Hubby, Jay, and

their daughter , Majeski and her friend (and our new

spiritual leader -- you should hear this woman pray a blessing!),

Vicki, Gardiner, and I had dinner at Cattlemans. HADJAB (the

other Debbie), who JUST got out of the hospital (and did laundry

yesterday, too) joined us and she looked FABULOUS. She's a natural

beauty and she was feeling great. We had prime rib and steak at

Cattleman's and I don't have time to post all the details right now,

but I DID take a lot of pictures!), but suffice it to say that before

the evening was over, Ebbieday had to dodge things careening off a

shelf behind her and took the sharp objects away from !

We closed the place down, literally -- the only person left besides

us was the mop boy and a cow they had hanging on the wall near a

rabbit with antlers.

I just *had* to try a frosty at 's later so I could demonstrate

what dumping is like .... hey, Flo, I'm feeling MUCH better but I'll

have to pass on the offer of having another one.

Today, I had to have an " upper GI " to see why my weight loss is so

slow. I took pictures of as much of all that as they'd let me and

I'll put them up on the web soon. Basically, I had to drink a *lot*

of barium, really fast (which of course means ralphing, too . . .)

and they x-rayed me and flouroscoped me as the barium made its way

through my plumbing.

The new stomach is SMALL! WOW! I got to see pics of all my plumbing.

I found out my esophagus is holding a lot of food, sort of stopping

up at the end, getting distended, before it lets food go to the

stomach. That is NOT something caused by the surgery -- Doc R.

doesn't work anywhere near that area. This is something wrong with

me.

Dr. R. may be able to fix it, though, so I may be on the schedule

here soon, we'll see. More as I find out the details.

Otherwise, we are having a ball and should be visiting today's new

post-ops in just a bit. I'll post updates tonight if I can. I'm

having a lot of trouble typing on 's laptop, though.
