I had lap RNY on Tuesday, Dec. 16, and ever since Friday morning, when my

finally decided to wake up, I have been getting the most uncomfortable and

definitely

most foul-smelling gas I have ever had in my life, save when I was ill with

the

stomach flu in past years.

Can anyone tell me if this is a temporary thing or whether this is a

permanent side

effect of surgery?

Thanks.

K.

Well I heard it is a permanant thing but you can take special bariatric

formulated internal deodorant capsules at each meal and it does help.

I am sorry.. but I have to laugh about the foul smelling gas.. LOL

The other day I was lying on the couch..and broke just the tiniest bit of wind.

Within 2 minutes.. my husband looked at me.. made a face and said.. " Did you do

that?? I am IMPRESSED "

Hmm.. smelly farts still funny for a guy at 35?? LOL

Anyhow.. I was embarrassed.. I am a lady ya know. (*burp*.. 'scuse me)

I am hoping they stench lessens too!

Dear K,

I can't speak for everyone, but for me, it lasted about 2 months and

then went away pretty much for good. Now, I think the bad odors come

depending on what I eat, but it's not chronic like it was in those first

two months. 90% of the time, I'm perfectly fine (read that no gas).

Hope it works out the same for you.

live each day like it's your last... love like you've never been hurt...
