Guest guest
Hi I am a new member on this list. I have a ASD son with eosinophilic esophagitis which means he is allergic to proteins in many foods (including the small amounts of proteins in fruits and vegetables). So far he has failed all the food trials (which unfortunately require biopsies from invasive endoscopies) and we want to give trials a break. He had major reflux since birth and was diagnosed with GERD at 10mo of age and had surgeries to correct the reflux and a G-tube. Because of early diagnosis of milk allergy he was put on Neocate at 3mo. Currently he is on 100% Neocate, diet fed primarily by G-tube (completely orally aversive). Neocate is a elemental formula (contains basic amino acids; no proteins). But it contains 52% corn solids. I am concerned that it may build yeast that is responsible for his hyperexcitability and hyperactivity. I am trying to find/make a recipe for a " Nutritionally Complete Elemental SCD Legal Formula " that I can feed w/ the feeding tube and drink by mouth (currently doing a very stressful feeding therapy). Please help if you can address any part of this problem statement. Santona Mom to Neel (3y, ASD), considering SCD.
