Guest guest
Wondering whether anyone can say what effect a build up of protein can cause. I'm guessing that this is a cause of leg swelling. Diabetes is not involved. Anyone with ideas on the leg swelling, or what protein build up can do, I would be glad to hear. P.

Guest guest
Leg swelling can be the sign for several serious conditions. I had leg swelling three years ago or so and it turned out to be a DVT, a blood clot. That required immediate care, time in a hospital to thin the blood, and time on blood thinners to stablize the clot. Leg swelling can also be the result of kidney insufficiency. You mention a protein build up, and excessive protein in the blood is a burden on the kidneys. There are other things that can cause that kind of swelling, and I really think anyone who has unusual swelling in a leg, should see their doctor as soon as they can. Hope that helps, Bert > Wondering whether anyone can say what effect a build up of protein > can cause. I'm guessing that this is a cause of leg swelling. > Diabetes is not involved.
