Guest guest
I know I deserve better but truthfully I am kinda enjoying seeing just how big on me the things can get!!! Lucky for me I no longer work outside the home and being that it's winter I don't go out alot. It's not that I can't afford to buy anything...I just really want to wait. Truth is I am cheap. Not about everything but I hate wasting money. I don't want to have to keep buying things. But I may break down and check out some thrift stores and buy a few things. Well...maybe when I start getting desperate. I really want to wait for summer since I will be (god willing) close to my goal by then. Then my hubby is taking me on a shopping spree!!!! ) Candi Re: You know whats nice?... oh ......tell her how easy it is to " take things in " Wolfie... heavens!!! Guest guest
Oh I don't plan on saving them at all!!! I just don't want to buy more until I ABSOLUTELY HAVE TOO!! ) I should have mentioned that I was not expecting to have my surgery until Jan or Feb so just 2 months before I had the surgery in September I bought a bunch of new clothes. See I knew I was going to have the surgery so I didn't buy anything for over a year and finally my day to day type clothes were just rags. So I had to buy some new stuff. Now I just want to get some use out of them before I get new clothes that will also have to be replaced soon. I admit it...I am a cheapskate!!!! ) Candi Re: You know whats nice?... Hello Everyone I tell ya give up the old clothes. I just folded up all my old clothes that no longer fit me and I will be taking them to the salvation army or contacting an organization that I heard of that accepts used clothes to help disadvantaged women who are preparing to enter the work force. I am a size 18 now and all of my beautiful work clothes don't fit any more. My clothes are all designer top quality and will do someone else some good. I have no desire whatever to hold on to them because there are even cuter more fashionable clothes for me to buy now and I am buying ladies you can best believe that. I am down to 220 now and I am only 5 pounds away from being in the smallest size range of my panty hose the ladies will know what I am talking about So my view on keeping the old clothes is ... not to keep them at all let go of the past fat clothes and embrace the new sizes the smaller sizes. I love my body and it is getting better and better every day. So keep up the great work everyone and lose the old clothes Lori Anne Lap RNY 8/25/03 293/274 day of surgery/220 current/130 goal

Guest guest
I love it Joan!!! I do the same thing. I even try things on. Just to see what size I can wear. I had the biggest thrill a couple of weeks ago. I could fit clothes in the regular size department. No longer have to go to the plus size section. I almost cried in the store. My hubby always says if you want it then buy it you have earned it. But I just want to wait. April is my 40th birthday and I am hoping for a big shopping trip then. Candi RE: You know whats nice?... Lori Anne, good point about clothes. I'm one to keep taking them in, and save $$, but I am curious though to see what the smaller sizes have in store. I walk by the clothes and literally drool! Did this the other day and saw such a cute jacket/sweater. My husband urged to buy it, but I had no idea what size I would eventually get too, and the fact that it would probably be bathing suit time when the jacket would fit nicely.....left it, but still dreaming of it. Dreams are wonderful, especially when you can realize them. Joan LAP RNY 11/18/03 Dr. Higa, Fresno, CA 282pre-op/275surg/243/

Guest guest
Candi, for me there's a psychological thing going on to see my clothes getting baggy. It feels good! Someone else mentioned this. But when I need something else, I'll get it. As someone else on here said, I'm too cheap.....too many years of scrimping is in my head, and impending retirement of my husband makes it more necessary. Guest guest
Lori Anne, yep we all have our priorities, and buying clothes definitely beats smoking and drinking. Actually in the long run, buying clothes could be cheaper!!! My husband reminds me that if I want clothes, get clothes, because I'm saving so much not eating the way I did.
