Guest guest
I knw I have mentioned on several occassions that I have more day to day symptoms of CP than Cassie, I have also mentioned the SPINK!. So ..Since last Sunday I've had off and on pain in the upper center and left side of my abdoman and mildly in my back, pain levels have been from still able to function, a tums calms it enough to increase resparations verge of tears, put me in a ball (6). Pain is always including belching the most horrible tatsing and smelly burps (rotten eggs) And the burps hurt! Last Night Ii had 4 bouts of vomiting. Oh my god!! I was puking the stuff I've been burping and get this It was large, bulky foul smelling and it floated.. So is it time To seek care? Would I be a hypochondriac if I went to dr and said ok its time to check out my pancreas. I have had at least 8 er visists or hospitilizations beteewn 25 and 28. All were for vomiting related dehydration. I also developed this problem with eggs which still lasts today. Balls me up and makes me sick like I described so I don't eat them. I have never been much of a meat eater that I can remember, I have always been a fruit, vegie and Carb person. Yet I always tried to eat a little. I'm 40, 5' 6 1/2 and currently weigh 119 lbs. But wieghed 134 in early February .. I have not enjoyed eating for many years Lows seem to be coming more often and more intensely. I've had pain bouts for years like I've described. It just seems to be coming more frequently instead of every few months it was almost all week 2 really bad days. I also don't want to be patronized. also don't what them ignoring the possiblity of my pancreas if this is what it is. what do you think? Patty Hurst Patty, You talk so much of Cassie that one forgets that you have problems of your own. I knew about the Spink1 gene, but I wasn't aware that your problems were that constant. BTW, eggs are tough, they are very high in fat, about 9 grams each! Is there any way you can by-pass your PCP and go directly to a gastroenterologist? IMHO, I definitely feel it's time for a specialist to have a complete, thorough look at your pancreas, and I don't think you should have to be patronized by ANY doctor to do it! The increase in symptoms doesn't sound good to me. It just may be your time, and the only way to find out is to go to someone who knows what they're doing and will treat you on your own merit. Cause doesn't matter as much as getting the right treatment and care. Please let us know what you decide to do. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H.
