Guest guest
Hello Everyone, I hope everyone is doing ok. I just want to share this story with you all: Last week my home care nurse came to flush my med-a-port & she ask all the normal questions....and the answer to the pain level is almost always a " 6 " . She didn't like that at all. I take MS Contin 60mg 2xday and stadol ns for breakthrough pain, and its been about a year & a half since it was changed to those. Anyways, my nurse said she was going to contact the doctor & let her know I'm not getting very good pain mgmt. & was going to suggest the duragesic patch. I tried the 50mg last January (2002) and it gave me severe headaches so my doc stopped it. The nurse wanted her to write for the 25mg for me to try. The nurse called today & said they got a fax from my doctor & she said that she had given me the 50, and she would only write for that again. The nurse told me to contact her office & tell them I didn't want the 50, that I wanted to try the 25 instead. And then she suggested, off the record, that I find a new doctor who will listen to me, and help me with this illness instead of blowing me off all the time. I did call her office, the nurse answered & when I explained why I was calling & she put me on hold. After several minutes the doctor came on the phone & started rattling on about me, thinking I was the home care nurse, and when I was finally able to stop her & tell her it was me, and her reply was, " so what do you want? why are you calling me about this? whats the question? " really, really snotty. When I told her what the home care nurse said & explained about the what the reaction I had with the 50mg she said, " well, it was an error " I tried to explain again...her reply.... " IT WAS AN ERROR! Goodbye " Oh, I was hot by then! I'm guessing the " error " was the home care agency's fault...the way she sounded anyways! So now I need to call the home care nurse tomorrow & let her know what this lady said to me. And I know the first thing they are going to say is.....You Need To Find A New Doctor!. So, there it is. Another doctor's horror story from Springfield Ohio! I hope none of you ever have to experience this type of stuff! But I know it happens. Thanks for letting me vent, you are the best! Lots of Hugs,
