Guest guest
I have not been physically hungry since surgery, however, I am always wanting to eat! I know that grazing allows us to consume more calories, but when I snack, I try to eat just protein, ie; cheese or some kind of meat. Is that bad? When will I actually start feeling hungry again? How do y'all cope with head hunger? Please share! Leah Booth 306/277/135ish RNY LAP 11/11/

Guest guest
Leah, yeah " head hunger " . I think we must all have it. I have to look it every time I have it, which is about 20x a day, and realize that my body doesn't want it. I think high protein snacks though is where I need to be too. It really is a strange sensation to not be hungry, but our trained instincts say " oh goody, food! " . It's hard sometimes, but then I look at the large picture (pun intended) and turn it down. I've almost never had this resolve. I've always felt weak where food was concerned. Others sharing the same concern here, helps though. Guest guest
Leah, when I was an early post-op, I would put something in my mouth, chew it up and spit it out. I know it's kind of gross, but it really did help me with head hunger. -- Marina (Los Angeles, CA) postie 3/12/03 262/173/155 " Leah " wrote: >I have not been physically hungry since surgery, however, I am >always wanting to eat! Guest guest
Candi, I'm headed for the store this a.m., and going straight for the SF Hot Cocoa! I've noticed (for someone that was truly addicted to sugar) that using the Splenda and other sweeteners seem to work instead of the sugar.....and as someone said on here this a.m., " Sugar is evil " .....especially for Diabetics. \ Joan LAP RNY 11/18/03 Dr. Higa, Fresno, CA 282pre-op/275surg/243/140 Re: Fighting Head Hunger!!
