Hi!

Today was our first day on this diet

Breakfast : Almond Milk (Pacific foods)

spaghetti squash with ground turkey cooked with tomatoes, bell

pepper, mint

Anuraag drank the milk and ate very little of the squash and a

little of the turkey

Lunch

We tried only the ground turkey, he ate a little more

He had a little bit of ripe banana for dessert

He had more almond milk after his nap. Also, had fresh orange juice

Dinner

He ate lentils(soaked overnight) with cauliflower and spices

Dad ate a lot of fruits, some almonds and vegetable chips in

addition to the spaghetti squash and ground turkey. For dinner I

actually tried the squash with an egg plant curry which had a ton of

peanuts

Could you help with the following questions

1. What kind of snacks can I give my boy. He does not eat fruits and

nuts. He does not like sweet snacks. He prefers salty crackers

2. He had been on a diet of milk, rice, vegetables and lentils for

the most part. Now he is GF/CF and on SCD. He starts school in a

week and we are concerned about what to pack for his lunch and snack

3. Pacific Foods Almond milk contains a brown rice sweetner - Is

this legal

4. I had soaked the lentils overnight, threw away the water and then

steamed the lentils with Cauliflower, carrots and peas and salt.

This is different from the ingredients, procedure described in the

BTVC recipe for sweet and sour lintels - Would my procedure be

considered legal, what is considered an acceptable deviation from

the book

I have read the book BTVC, I find the recipes more suited for me

(adults) than my child who is a picky eater.

We appreciate any advise that you could provide.

Best Wishes

Anuraag and Srini (dad)
