If you already took care of the icons, that should help some. Look in

the taskbar in the lower right corner of your screen, near the clock.

You should see the icons for programs currently running. Right click

on the icons for programs you don't need, and click " close. " This

will free up system resources. Don't worry so much about the deleting

things from your hard drive, it will only help minimally. More RAM is

probably your best bet overall, especially since it's extremely low

priced right now. Be sure to find out what kind of RAM your machine

takes, either by finding it in the manual, or bringing a description

and model number of your machine to a store like CompUSA, and ask a

sales rep. The RAM is very easy to install, and it only fits in one

spot, one way. It's pretty hard to do incorrectly. Good luck.
