Guest guest
I agree. There is no cure for rosacea. I think everyone flares up for different reasons. Here are my flare ups. Maybe yours are the same and this will help: humidity extreme heat spinach coffee wine stress or when I get pissed off Good tip if you have to drink, drink beer with ice in it. A lite beer that is. Also, I use Plexion wash for my face and there is also a cream for the zits. The ones on my back and chest go away in about a day after use. If you live near Chicago, I can give you a good doctor. I am having laser treatments right now it and seems to be helping only after two. I don't have acne on my face, just red and some lovely veins. I only break out with pimples when it is humid. I sent my picture recently if you saw it. As for Dr. Nase, who the hell is this guy? I don't know and I have no interest in buying the book either. I think its good for your sole and mind to write and receive from other people with the same problems. It is somewhat good to know that there are other people out there like you and you are not alone. Know what I mean? I hope this helps you. That saying, I would be surprised if cea Support is not the best web-based support group in cyber land. The knowledge I have gained regarding the physiological aspects of my disorder, in addition to finding out about treatment options and skin care, has been immeasurable. However, that takes a second seat to the emotional sustenance I have received from you guys. Through this group I have " met " a variety of interesting, warm, caring, helpful, funny, committed individuals, from all over the world. I have met friends. I find it sad that a fellow cean can't see the inherent helpfulness in the ongoing support this group unselfishly provides; that she is blind to the excellence in such a forum. --Jillian

Guest guest
I think everybody differs in some ways and we all have different triggers. Metro Gel DOES NOT eliminate pimples for me. The ones on my back only go away the next day with Plexion. So I use Metro Gel in the morning on my face and Plexion at night. I use the Plexion wash morning and night when I look my worst, and only wash with water in the morning when I look okay. Maybe this will help you. Dr. Nase says not to use Retin-A but another doctor on the internet says Retin-A in low doses helps. So who knows who is right. I won't try this unless I'm desperate. I was wondering if everyone ran to the doctor when they first noticed they had a problem. After I had nose surgery (14 yrs. ago), my nose was red and I thought it was from the surgery. I didn't go to the doctor until a few months later which I think was still soon. Maybe that is why mine is not so bad...or I'm just lucky? Don't know. I think the person who wrote about drinking lots of water is right by the way. I think it helps my face. Maybe this is why alcohol is bad because it dehydrates? Guest guest
I'm sorry that this support group has not been helpful for you, but for many many other people, this support group has been successful in that it did exactly what it created to do: provide support. One of the hardest things about having this condition is the isolation one feels. To stand out, and have the feeling that you are the only person who seems to have to deal with this. By providing a public forum and a place to get together and discuss our mutual problem, it takes away much of that isolation and allows us to pool our resources and work together to find a solution or solutions to treat our condition. I think almost all of the people who still frequent the group have not found *THE* cure yet, but I think we all recognize what a valuable resource this support group yet. I am confident that sooner or later we will come upon the solution to our problem. We have already progressed so far in just a few years of the existence of this group. I have been around since 1999 when the group was a mailing list on E-Scribe, and we knew so much less about the actual condition than we do now. A large degree of the progress we have made can directly be attributed to one Dr. Nase. In a time when there were so few medically-knowledgable people focusing on our problem, here came folks like Dr.Nase and Dr.Sy who investing an immense amount of time conducting research, asking questions, visiting doctors and testing treatments. For that service I hold a great amount of gratitude for him. While he may not have helped *YOUR* condition to your own satisfaction, he has probably helped countless others in treating their condition who have the pleasure of never needing to return to this support group anymore. Again, if you feel like this board doesn't fill your needs, or doesn't hold any value for you, then you are free too _leave_. Nobody is forcing you to come here and you are under no obligation to stay. If this group is so useless to you, why do you come? But if you ever feel like you need some people to talk to about rosacea and would like to learn more about how people are treating it and new possible discoveries, then feel free to come around anytime, because this group is open to all. -- Sy > By the way I never really learned anything on this message board my face > still does what it wants when it wants.
