Guest guest
: I am able to work...with medication. Most medicines that cause some people to get drowsy, usually has the opposite effect on me. I am very, very fortunate that the company I work for is very understanding and supportive to providing whatever I need. I was feeling a little guilty that I was missing time for doctor's appointments etc...Also a new therapist didn't have evening hours so even that type of appointment I was going to have miss work for an hour and a half every week. My boss' response was, " I know how difficult it can be on you mentally to deal with a chronic illness, I want you to do whatever you have to to take care of yourself. " I went back to college and ten years later graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in 2000! I really was on my way up the corporate ladder when I first got sick two and a half years ago. Many of my responsibilities had to be given to other people, and until my health becomes more stable, it will have to stay that way. It's hard sometimes because I really enjoyed being in the middle of stuff and contributing to the success of our company. I don't feel like I contribute much these days, but I've had to accept that's the way it is right now, like it or not! I know I'm fortunate to still have a job, with such great benefits! I'm curious though, how many other people are able to continue working too. The times when I'm sick I kind of wish I wasn't working, but my husband feels I might go downhill much quicker, because of the isolation this sickness brings with it. At least getting out to work everyday gets me out of the house, and restores some sense of normalcy. Hope you are doing well today! Robin Robin R.
