Riding around in a golf cart?

Here's an odd question (I'm only having lower advancement, if that

matters at all):

My mom is coming out to take care of me post-op and she's an avid

golfer. If I'm feeling up for it, I'd like to go with her and get out

of the house -- I hate being stuck indoors.. it would only be like 4

days post op though, so it's a stretch that I'd feel up for it as it

is.. but.. if I'm feeling good (and I don't care how I look to other

people), how would riding around in a golf cart (I will NOT be

golfing) for a couple hours affect my jaw? I imagine it would be a

bumpy ride. Probably wishful thinking on my part, but I'm just

curious if it would be possible?

My finacee works at a golf course and i was feeling well enough to

go out at day 3 post op and he took me out in the golf cart and it

didnt affect me as much as riding in a car did.

I rather much doubt you'll want to do this immediately post-op, but I

could be mistaken. Some folks bounce right back and are up and at 'em.

Why not ask your surgeon? Or at least his office staff (and then if

you don't get the answer you want from them, ask him directly! ;~>)

I would imagine the doc would encourage it. I know my surgeon did not

want me to just lie around the house, for a lot of reasons -- one

major one being that you need some movement to prevent blood clots

(and to get your internal plumbing back on track).

Some folks have found the heat troublesome in the summertime. I did

not. I just had nooooo energy at all. More power to you, though, if

you do! And if your doc oks it. I would suggest that you take along a

good supply of water, and maybe even a stash of Boost or Ensure in a

cooler. STay hydrated and nourished, even when you're out tooling

around.

(My surgeon's partner, whom I saw at my first post-op appointment,

told me that the only way I'd hurt myself would be if I fell. " And

you're not going to fall. If you think you're about to, sit down. " )

I wouldnl't go galmphing over a bumpy road, but aren't most golf

courses pretty smooth? And given that it's your mom, I'd bet she'd be

particularly careful not to turn over or let you fall off.
