SARPE is Surgically Assisted Rapid Palatal Expansion, used to broaden

the upper arch.

BSSO is Bilateral Sagittal Split Osteotomy; Bilateral, meaning both

sides of the lower jaw. Sagittal is the direction of the split in the

jaw -- they make a cut at the back, then tease the jaw apart, so that

it can slide forward along itself to gain the length, and then be

fixed with three little screws on each side (or sometimes with a

plate or two; Osteotomy means cutting the bone.

Lefort I Maxillary Impaction is descriptive of the cuts made to raise

the upper jaw.

Malocclusion Class II is, essentially, an overbite. Long face

syndrome is essentially a descriptive term, characterising a

particular group of disorders in which the face is unusually long.

Right, ?

You'll find definitions of all these things, and more, in the links

here and on site 2, in the dictionaries and glossaries.

That help?
