Guest guest
I was on effexor before the lexapro and I didn't like it. It made me feel strange. I told my doctor to give me something else. Pam

Guest guest
I am 7 months post op and struggeling with depression. I know I need to take an antidepressant but in the past they have caused me to gain weight which terrifies me. I am afraid to sabotage the surgery. Does anyone know of an antidepressant which does not have weight gain as a side effect?

Guest guest
Gosh I am sorry to hear you are felling down. I would talk to your doc but I have been on the same anti-depressant since before my surgery and I am losing weight. I would think as long as you are sticking to the protein train you will be fine. Guest guest
Antidepressants are actually more likely to cause weightloss, although I never experienced that. After trying zoloft, paxil, and welbutrin, I've found that the new Lexapro has the least side effects for the most help. Its difficult to choose what antidepressant you should take by asking other people. After evaluations, your doctor should be able to prescribe the best type for you based on your needs and situation. But at least you'll have a few names to pop out there during your appointment. Toi > I am 7 months post op and struggeling with depression. Guest guest
, during my wait for the surgery, the psychiatrist put me on Effexor. When I had an appt. at the weight clinic, they said no, it would cause weight gain, and I was switched to Lexapro, 20 mg. a day. Also have taken Wellbutrin SR and it's side effect is supposed to help lose weight, but I never noticed it did.
