Guest guest
I've been having diarrhea more lately. I'm sure it isn't helping keep enough water in. Wondered if possibly it could be a reaction to some food? I've heard people's tolerances to foods can change. I'm drinking, drinking, drinking. Feel so much better this a.m. after forcing liquids all day yesterday, and my b.p. was 120/74. I'm still going to keep checking it often to see if the medication is taking it down too low. Well, I promised myself, back to the exercise bike this a.m., so off I go! Guest guest
hi steph. hope u feel better soon. & by all means, reschedule your appts, esp since they were prepaid. you're entitled to your wls guidance & feedback. lori h. > Hi there... > I would also like to thank each and everyone who posts, replys and helps each one of us. I have learned a lot even at almost a year post op about things I didn't even think of. You don't realize how much a few words of encouragement, experience and help can do for someone who is struggling. I was never able to make my 6 month post op appointment due to a death in my family, my doctors office sent paper work from the dietician and said it wasn't necessary to reschedule. Which I think is ridiculous since I had to pay for a years worth of appointments prior to surgery! Don't get me wrong, my surgeon was wonderful and most of his staff is as well...except the front office! hahahaha. I know that if something happens and I have to miss my years appointment I will insist they reschedule and I will be asking for a refund as well for those appointments I wasn't able to keep. > > Thanks everyone! > Steph

Guest guest
This is one area we have become an expert in! Asenath had chronic diarrhea for the first three years of her life and NOONE ever tried to really solve the problem until Zipporrah too had the same issue and I mentioned her sweating episodes along with the diarrhea, to which the pediatrician responded " dumping syndrome. " This changed our lives for the better because we immediately scheduled gastric emptying scans for both girls and found Zipporrah to have way too fast motility and placed her on 3 ml. Imodium daily and then later placed Asenath on 4-5 ml. per day. It has drastically changed their bowel movements! They now have soft, but not way too mushy or liquidy bowel movements with no red, soar bottoms. We struggled with three years of diarrhea only to learn so easily how to control it! We could have saved Asi SOOOOOOO much bottom pain and tummy pain if we had only known. Now, this may totally be unrelated to what your child is dealing with and some of the viruses around this year have been terrible, lasting 4-6 weeks with no release, so she might just be dealing with something affecting her tummy temporarily and will get better on its own, but...I thought I would tell you our experience in this issue. See www.caringbridge.org/ia/mitomomof9 and www.heartbeatsformito.org to see a photo look into what Mito looks like Darla: mommy to Asenath (4) Mito, CNS Vasculitis, strokes, migraines, seizures, G-tube, hypotonicity, disautonomy, SID, global delays, asthma, cyclic vomiting, bladder issues, wheelchair for distances, eye issues, autistic behaviors, gastric emptying issues... Guest guest
Grace had the same thing when she was little. For her, it stopped when we started Carnitor. She is carnitine defficient so we think it may have been the problem. It has also been suggested that maybe Grace has a secondary FOD, but the testing has always been normal.
