Guest guest
Hello Ladies, Candi, my husband is in the Army and we are stationed at Fort , KY. And Lenora, I know how you feel cause my hubby is also in Iraq. He has been gone since 1 March of this year. But he was able to come home for a little while right after my surgery. Lenora, you will definately need someone to help you for the first week. And you should not lift anything over 10 pounds for at least 6 weeks cause it could cause a hernia. Are you having the surgery done my military dr or civilian? I had mine done by civilian cause they deployed the dr on post to Iraq. Do you have a support group at the station you are at? I had an epidural in the hospital so I was not in pain hardly at all. Only a slight discomfort every now and then when the medicine bad was running low. I was in worse pain the day I came home from the hospital cause it was so uncomfortable to lay in bed. I went and bought a recliner and slept in it for several days. I took pain meds the day I came home from the hospital then did not take them again after that cause although I was uncomfortable I was not in severe pain. Keep you chin up. Things will be just fine. Just do what the dr tells you and be sure to get up and walk, walk, walk! It truely does help you to recover faster. Please let us know how you are doing when you get home. See ya on the losing side!!! God Bless Shelley D 9/25/03-OPEN RYN 236/179/140 > Hello Lenora > > Welcome to the group. I am sure you will do great!!! > > It's not bad in the hospital.
