Time banded--why does it vary so much????

Hi, I had surgery on upper and lower jaw to correct an open bite and

a crooked jaw on Aug. 4. Does it seem strange that I am only going

to be banded for 2 weeks??? It sounds to me as if most people here

with similar surgeries were banded or wired like 6 weeks. While I

relish the thought of freeing my " caged " tongue and being about to

insert food by opening my jaws instead of feeding a tube behind my

teeth.....I just wonder...Is it just the surgeron's preference on

these things. I guess I really just want to make the strongest

recovery possible.
