Guest guest
Well, the SARPE is surgically assisted rapid palatal expansion. That is where they slit the upper palate and half with a small surgery and then you crank this little device wider each day to make your upper jaw wider. The lefort I maxillary impaction means that they took my upper jaw and shortened it. The BSSO-Bilateral sagittal split osteotomy is how they moved my lower jaw forward by making diagonal slices into the bone at the sides of my jaw and sliding the front portion forward, maintaining bone on bone contact. The sliding chin augmentation-they essentially cut the chin from the jaw and slide it forward to make a more pronounce jawline. Hope this helps. > > > julie, > > > what procedures did you have? > > > thanks, > > > alex > > > > > > > > > >From: " Belkus " <jbelkus@s...> > > > >Reply-To: orthognathicsurgerysupport > > > >To: orthognathicsurgerysupport > > > >Subject: [Orthognathic Surgery Support ] Hello Ladies- Cammie, > > (It > > > >is LadyBelkus) > > > >Date: Mon, 09 Aug 2004 18:04:29 -0000 > > > > > > > >Hi Ladies! > > > > > > > >I figured I would pop in and see if there was a small chance that > > > >you two were still active on this board. > > > > > > > >I can't believe that it has been two years since my surgery!
