Guest guest
Hi Bill, I was actually talking with Vera regarding Al's and Fred's similarities in personalities and guess that someone would mention about the " female ego's " too. As an old hand caring for both aged male and females in their own homes I'm very familiar with both sexes and their " ego's " . Still one has to have a giggle every now and then - including the patients! Believe me I think I would make a far worse patient than anyone has ever cared for as I know just about every trick in the Book!! For a number of years I have been working in the disability field caring for young children/adults who have been born with a disability, or who have aquired one, in Respite Care. For the past five years I have been working with young people with disabilities who have just left school on a transition program at our Centre. This program actually started here in South East Queensland five years ago. I thought I was fairly well prepared with my sort of background but then seeing my husband being struck down with the viciouness of this disease has left even me floundering as to how best I can help him. He was actually aware some ten years ago that there was something dreadfully wrong with him but no doctor would listen. That is until he physcially began to show signs of his disability - even then he was wrongly diagnosed with PD. We are still hoping that something can be done for him on Nov 6 as his legs are constantly in pain - " burning pain " as he says, though they are cool to touch. To date I haven't seen anyone mention that they have struck this on the group listing - so it is quite possible that Al (Al-ger-non) could still have another problem on top of this one. Read you E-mail on Aussie Ann #1 the Southport girl very interesting. Aussie Ann #

Guest guest
My hussband, Speedy , complained about burning legs for several years. He always said that they did not hurt, but that they burned. This also was going on some time prior to his diagnosis. We tried pain medication and Neurotin. The only things that helped, put him to sleep for long periods of time. He decided that most of the time, he would rather endure the burning and be able to be awake.
