Yes, although I can only use it once per day or it's too irritating. It has

helped greatly with the itching and somewhat with the bumps. (My skin has

always liked sulfur!)

Check the archives. I believe there have been a number of posts from people who

have used Plexion facial wash, although I don't recall ever reading a post about

the cream.

I tried Plexion cream as an alternative to the Metro family, and my skin didn't

like it at all. My face became red, painful, and itchy, and so I discontinued

it after a few days. I've always had extremely sensitive skin, though, even

before rosacea.

Still haven't heard from anybody. Is there anyone who can tell me their

experiences with Plexion? Good or bad?

thanks!

I used the Plexion topical and had a very bad reaction. More papules and

very red itchy sensitive face. It took about 5 days to clear it up.

Hello. I normally do not write the group... just skim, but I think that you

might be interested in my case. I have a mild case of infamatory roseaca (it

should be mild as I was diagnosed at 15 years old and I'm still only 21). My

derm prescribed Plexion a year ago to cleanse with once a day(previously I was

using Cetaphil to cleanse once a day... water the other time) and I was

satisfied with it. It was really nice at first (except that it has a very

strong sulfer smell... I used it in the shower to get most of the sulfer smell

off). After a couple of months though, it started to really dry out my face.

So, I started just using every other or third day.

Well, two days ago I went in for my yearly appt with my derm and she said that I

wasn't the only person with a dryness complaint. Apparently, the producers of

Plexion have come out with a second formula that is more mask like in that you

leave it on for 5 minutes or so and then wash off (its still being sold as a

Plexion product). My derm suggested using it 2 times a week and using another

new product, OVACE (sodium sulfacetamide, the same as Klaron I believe) wash the

rest of the time. OVACE is supposed to be really gental... the derm described

it like s & Joshnsons' baby shampoo for the face). Any rate, the pharmacy

didn't have the Plexion mask (it should be here tomorrow) and I have only been

using the samples of OVACE, but so far I am happy with it.

Oh, just for reference, I use Klaron and MetroCREAM two times a day as well as

live by Clinique's Super City sunblock (25) which I am scared to find out if it

has changed for the worse for my face.

Good luck.

I've had wonderful results with new routine of plexion 2xday and

tazorac every other day. Face REALLY cleared up and I've had no

reactions as others have related.

I discontinued using it and didn't use anything until the reaction cleared

up. I still had bumpy skin to begin with but this made it much worse and the

bumps itched. I suspect I was having a reaction to the sulphur. Now I am

using cea LTD disks (only the tan one, the yellow one has much more

sulphur in it) and I am really liking it. There are some drawbacks but this

is the best my face has looked in a long time. Every prescription I have

tried either hasn't helped or has made things worse. I am stilling looking

for the miracle cure :)

My face is red and had hundreds of tiny little bumps all over (papules). I have

tried metrocream, plexion, antibiotics...and nothing helped. My appearance did

not change. Now that I am using the disks I believe (and my husband has

commented) that I have less bumps and the redness has lighted somewhat. The

drawbacks are you end up with this light sandpaper feeling on your face. 30

minutes after I apply the disk, I spray my face lightly with water and brush the

gritty stuff off. If I do not use water it kind of hurts to brush it off. Also,

you are not suppose to apply makeup, sunscreen, etc for atleast 30 minutes after

you use the disks. So you have to have a lot of time on your hands in the am,

which I do not. Can never seem to get up early enough. :)

Hope this helps,

Jennette

Hi Jennette,

you wrote:

" The drawbacks are you end up with this light sandpaper feeling on your

face. 30 minutes after I apply the disk, I spray my face lightly with water

and brush the gritty stuff off. If I do not use water it kind of hurts to

brush it off. "

I also use the disks & have experienced what you describe. What I do is

this:

1.) Wash w/ Alveeno Baby Cleanser, rinse & leave my face wet. If I think I

need it, I apply 1-2 droplets of vita-oil or jojoba oil to my wet face.

2.) QUICKLY " dot " the disk all over my face (act like you are daubing a

bingo card, don't rub as the instructions say to do), starting from the top

down.

3.) Let my face air dry.

4.) If I feel grittiness after my face dries, I wet my hands & lightly tap

the gritty areas on my face, then quickly blot those areas with a towel. I

do this lightly so as to leave some medication behind.

My theory is that gravity pulls the residue from the cea Disks down to

the jawline, so that you will find gritty concentrations of the medication

on the lower parts of your face. I have found my jawline to be

" scratchy/gritty " with residue when I didn't even apply the disk to that

area. Thus, I can only conclude that the water on your face is dragging the

minerals downward.

Contrary to the instructions with the disks, I do not " brush off the residue

with a towel " , as it is irritating to do that, like you said.
