You should definitely start supplementing, and if you're already supplementing B12, double the dosage! I saw a marked improvement in how I felt when I got my levels back over 600. Guest guest
Hi Chandra, This could absolutely be why you feel like garbage. How are you supplementing your B-12? Marjie

Guest guest
Chronic fatigue is a symptom of B-12 deficiency. Adding more B-12 to your existing supplementation regimen can't hurt. Guest guest
I profoundly disagree with Ray's statement. You can take as much sublingual B-12 as you like, but if your body is not absorbing ANY of it, it can indeed hurt you. I was taking large doses (48,000% of RDA daily for several months and 32,000% of RDA for the year before that) of high-quality sublingual B-12 when my B-12 levels dropped below 100 and not only was I anemic (pernicious anemia) but I had neurological symptoms that were fairly serious. Those neurological symptoms can progress to permanent neurological damage. Only since beginning weekly injections three months ago have my numbers started to improve and my symptoms started to fade. I am 35 years old, and am otherwise healthy, with no history of this sort of problem; my PCP has clearly identified this as a post-RNY issue for me. If your B-12 level is indeed low, you need to discuss injected Vitamin B-12 with your PCP. Injections are easy, cheap, and might save you from permanent neurological damage. Do it now.
